The Village, Behind CAHOPE

When I visited Cahope, I thought I was going there to be a blessing to the children. Knowing the difficult circumstances they had come from - I expected to find children in need of love and hope.

Instead, they were the ones who blessed me! From the moment I arrived, they welcomed me with genuine joy, kindness, and unconditional love. It was clear that the care, stability, and restoration they have found through Cahope have transformed their lives. These children are not defined by their past, but by the love they now receive every day!

CAHOPE is a very special place. A place filled with kindness, warmth, hospitality, discipleship and lots of love. There is a very special love for children and for God, and it is a huge privilege to be a part of.

I am so incredibly grateful for my time at CAHOPE, where I was got to know the best children in the hole world, Julian and Samira and their inspiring calling and courage to be in their mission, and to meet the entire network that makes CAHOPE a home for the children. I met incredible hospitality and love, and although I arrived with the intention of giving my love and myself to the house and to the children, I quickly experienced how every little drop of love turned into so many more blessings. Being allowed to form a relationship with the children through play, school, laughter, chores, everyday life, the big and the small experiences, has been a great blessing that I will always take with me. Watching them grow and develop, become interested in the world, other people, God, improve their skills and just be allowed to be the children they were created to be is a huge, huge privilege. CAHOPE has made a huge impression on my heart, and I am so grateful for that.

My husband and I had the opportunity to serve at CAHOPE in July of this year. We’ve served at different children’s homes before, but there was something truly special about this place. It didn’t feel like an orphanage—it felt like a family.

The children called the couple who run the home “Mom” and “Dad,” and you could genuinely feel the love between them and the children. It was beautiful to witness.

We enjoyed our time there so much that we ended up staying longer than we had originally planned, simply because we wanted a little more time to support them and love on the kids.

We are incredibly grateful to have met Julian and Samira and to now be a small part of what God is doing through CAHOPE in Oaxaca.
